As Katrina V. eloquently described, Pinoy Food Republic "holds us down" with its remarkable dishes that nourish not just the body but the spirit. It's a place where Filipino Americans can reconnect with their roots and share cherished meals with loved ones. Another patron, Czarina V., frequently indulges in their home-cooked "ulam" (rice toppings), noting how it satisfies her cravings effectively when time is short.
Perhaps one of the standout features is the restaurant's casual, canteen-style setting. It evokes nostalgia for many and presents an opportunity for newcomers to delve into Filipino cuisine without any pretense. Expect to leave with your clothes smelling of delicious food—a small price to pay for such an extraordinary culinary journey.

Yes, Pinoy Food Republic is * my * Filipino food source as Americana Filipiniana SoCal local. Three Saturdays out of every month this year (2024) I eat Pinoy Food Republic takeout in my mom's Toyota Yaris because she gets herself a meal while also getting me a meal, which we devour in omnivorous fashion me before mass at Mary Star of the Sea in their parking lot (I know there's a fasting restriction but the board and care I live at has dinners at four and mass is at five while rosary is at four thirty while confession starts at four, and so since I have lupus I eat first. I'm allowed to. So then it doesn't wreak havoc with my circadian rhythms and to me lessens my chances of a lupus flare.) and my mom eats hers after mass (She eats it at the parking lot of Rite Aid before we get Thrifty's ice cream.) but 99 percent of the time this food is from Pinoy Food Republic! Pinoy Food Republic be holding us down!!! Like, today and tonight we shared one person's meal only, where usually we get two. But that's okay because I ate something else earlier which I tend not to do. Which is just a quirk of today. But we shared only one styrofoam square box of deep fried breaded skin on fat on half filet of striped bass, and two scoops of white rice. Well, it is a full filet but I mean that it's half the deboned body of the fish where the other half went to a different customer. Omega 3 fatty acids with calcium and potassium, iron, zinc, iodine, magnesium, phosphorus. And we shared one circle tub of pinakbet vegetables stew. Vitamin C, vitamin A, folic acid. With eggplant, green beans, and calabasa squash. Yuuumm. Probably next time again, two entrees each. Usually with half and half white rice and pancit noodles. That's our usual now. And to me it's such a treat because I just am not able to eat Filipino food every day. Which, as a Filipino American I really kind of want to and wish I did and could. Thank you, Pinoy Food Republic for fortifying my muscles and bones, my brains and heart. With this delicious and nutritious food. For me, since 2021. Merry happy to you! And may we have more seasons together. And Maraming Salamat Po for choosing my picture of my hand with your delicious okoy for your current main pic. I always eat the whole fried shrimp with skin feet head tail. :) If you are reading this, and you've never had Filipino food before, go try Pinoy Food Republic, where they put love in the tastes. The sooner the better! (233)

I'm surprised by the low rating, based on my first and only experience last night. I ordered a combo plate. Rice, pancit, bistek, and chicken curry. She kept piling on more. $17 for enough to have 3 meals. Very friendly service.

DELICIOUS FOOD and extremely various choices which are very rich, yummy and authentic! The staff is always friendly, really caring and they always have the best selection of Filipino food at affordable prices. This is really a cool spot to go to. Parking is great also because it is very wide. I highly recommend this place because it is super authentic and delicious!

Reasonable price ! Employees are very courteous and friendly too. Keep up the good work !

I'm here often. Too often. Superb homecooked "ulam" (rice toppings) and really good "pancit" (stir fried noodles). When I'm lazy to cook, I'm here in a jiff. Even the banana-Qs are amazing (fried plantains drizzled in brown sugar). My favorite ulam from here though would be their "tortang talong" (eggplant grilled then fried with egg), spicy pork ribs and "munggo" (mung beans). Their "kare-kare" (meat in peanut sauce) is also to-die-for. It's a typical Filipino canteen-style joint so expect to smell like food if you stay here for more than 5 minutes, FYI.

Love the variety here! Can get a taste of home cooked goodness! My all time faves from here are the grilled sea bass and dinakdakan!
